Yes, you can claim for childcare costs as long as the carer is a registered child carer.
As a basic rate tax payer you can claim up to £55 per week (or £243 each month) against the cost of the childcare. If you are a higher rate tax payer you can claim up to £28 each week (or £124 each month) against the cost of child care.
You can claim for childcare in a number of ways e.g. paying directly to a childcare voucher administration scheme or paying the child-carer directly from the business.
Paying for child care up to these set amounts will mean that there are no tax or national insurance liabilities and the business will get tax relief on the payment.
